Some will say "of course" to this news, while others will scrunch the nose.
Personally, I wonder why so few in conservative media have commented on the fact that Brett Cooper, who has maintained a fairly good reputation with young conservatives, got accolades for leaving the Daily Wire, but gets no pushback for joining the most boomer conservative news outlet imaginable... Fox News.
Strange? Incoherent?
I'd say yes on both counts.
That said, hear my views on this in our podcast below, and Tim Pool comments below.
Make the cognitive dissonance make sense, but do people have the memory of a mosquito? While people from Steven Crowder to Candace Owens have accused the "newer" conservative media company, The Daily Wire, of everything short of genocide, they give Fox News a pass.
Fox News... the most milquetoast conservative media outlet you can find. Maybe it is what people want in a conservative news outlet... milquetoast? Or is it maybe that Brett Cooper can do no wrong?
In any case, it's not a good look for people who claim to have principles.
When Brett Cooper left the Daily Wire earlier this year, after Candace Owens (who has recently been unmasked as an antisemite) crashed out of her contract with them earlier, people gave her mountains of support (they still do). Even to the point of saying that the Daily Wire must be "falling apart," simply because they can't keep these girls on staff.
But has this proven to be true?
Maybe so, at this rate. Considering that The Daily Wire appears "less solid" since Jeremy Boreing left his role and has appeared to have been 'memory holed' as though he never existed.
I love the Daily Wire, and I hate how they memory holed Jeremy Boreing. It feels wrong because it is wrong. He's my friend, and he deserved better than this.

But this apparent fracture within the company doesn't appear to be the same reasons critics cited as what is wrong with the DW. In fact, "closing out" of the employment contracts with Candace and Brett appear to have been a sign of their health, not of their BigConness, as Crowder would likely put it.
Oh yeah, Crowder.
Daily Wire also appears to have dodged a bullet in not bagging Crowder for their team, since he turned out to be a "real charmer." Accusing Daily Wire of being a "big con" while showing no evidence to bolster his accusation, and then ending up with marital strife, no doubt due to his marvelous conflict resolution abilities. Instead of harming DW, Crowder has only brought his own credibility into question, as it comes to how he treats friends and partners.
"Louder" doesn't necessarily mean "better," apparently. In fact it might just mean "verbally abusive." Ouch.
But let's say this is water under the bridge.
I still don't get why Cooper isn't called out for her decision. Sure, being a GenZ, Cooper may have had a youthful and fresh appeal to the new brand of MAGA and conservative voter-base, which is also trending younger, but this means that not calling her out for "going establishment" so-to-speak with Fox News is a strange turn.
Sure, we can understand what Fox News gets out of this... a younger demo. But what does Brett get, in terms of image?
But if we were to compare Daily Wire with Fox you'd have to ask yourself some questions. Do you see Fox News show hosts (not internet influencers, mind you) ever putting out anti-LGBTQ documentaries that break records? Do you see them challenging Democrat legislation with petitions, activism, and mounds of necessary discussions bringing conservative values to the fore? No? How about effecting the culture? No? But hey, they do talking head news shows for sixty year olds. You know it's what you really want. [cynicism grows]
As for myself personally, I'd rather have better journalism than Fox News offers. Something that really makes a difference such as what DW is doing.
I'm not saying Fox News is in no way conservative, but they often act more like the controlled opposition we in the modern conservative movement have learned to side-eye. We have learned that failing to stand up for your values is often just as bad as being an ideological enemy. In fact, those who sit idly by can be even more damaging and dangerous than an enemy combatant.
Being a pundit that just talks instead of acting, is often not much better. It sometimes even feels like these modern journalists are just running a money-making scheme instead of using a necessary tool to improve our country. It's a betrayal of the entire purpose and mandate of journalism and media– in my humble view. Journalism was never meant to be a career that makes loads of cash. It was a community-building effort to protect your neighbors, your family, and your very nation from lies and fraud and deceit. Lies and fraud and deceit, even from within. Journalism is meant to be a bastion of American freedom, not a socially acceptable virtue signal to tow any party's line. And it is certainly not about making fun talking points to 'the yutes' to get clicks.
So, while I'm sure many will enjoy the bread and circuses that a nice new pundit will do for Fox News, I was at one time hoping that she was more than a pundit who only seeks to benefit the talking heads by getting them more clicks.
