Testament: Multiverse Reimagining of Acts of the Apostles Comes on Sunday

Watch the livestream here to see Testament Ep. 1 & 2!

Angel makes a great habit of connecting with their audience through livestreams and Guild-access showings. In this case, the Testament film, which previously made a splash with a small but serious fanbase two years ago, makes its return as the series it always wanted to be.

And now, Angel's livestream of their first two episodes comes this Sunday June 8th at 4pm.

Here's the new synopsis for this upcoming iteration of the show!

"On Pentecost morning, a mysterious wind sweeps through the city, stirring whispers of something old and something new. Despite his mother’s protests, Stephen follows the call, leading him to an encounter that will change everything. Meanwhile, Saul returns to Salem, determined to secure a place in the Temple’s ranks. But when the Ministers learn of the growing movement of Jesus' followers, fear and fury collide. Desperate to maintain control, they plot to crush the resurgence once and for all."

As stated, the earlier iteration of this same show was a film called Testament at the time, but it became The Parables Retold, but as Director Paul Syrstad described this new work, it is not a continuation of the old but a "retelling of the same story." But also like an expansion of the same universe, which can be told better with a better budget.

Here is the newer trailer.

This is looking to be a pretty exciting show, and seems to have many fans. Watch the livestream here on June 8th, and you will see episodes 1 & 2, and you might get to see early hints on what is upcoming for Testament this season.

Angel has a few descriptions of the series and the film. This one sets the backdrop and sets up the basic plot for the new series.

"The Book of Acts explosively reimagined in an alternate-modern era. A resurrection sparks a movement that turns the world upside down, spreading hope amid chaos. As the followers risk everything to preach the good news, the Temple races to silence them before the oppressive Imperium regime retaliates. But public miracles, unburied secrets, and fractured loyalties force both sides to confront the true cost of their choices."

Sounds pretty accurate to what we saw in the trailer!

On top of this, we hear Paul also has plans for a season 2, so this should be an incredible show to watch this summer! Because picking out what parts of Acts he will show in the first season and then imagining what parts in Acts will come next in season 2 should add more fun to it! Maybe reading Acts again while viewing the show might be a fun idea!
