A film made by and for the American farmer who need that additional help, Green & Gold is a love letter to their cause, starring Craig T. Nelson (Wag the Dog, The Incredibles), Brandon Sklenar (It Ends With Us, Drop) and Madison Lawlor (Until Forever, Casa Grande).
As stated on Angel: "Green and Gold tells the story of a dairy farmer in Wisconsin, Buck (Craig T. Nelson). With mounting debt and the land his family has cultivated for four generations at risk, Buck refuses to give up his legacy without a fight. Buck’s granddaughter (Madison Lawlor) works alongside him but dreams of a career in music. However, chasing her dreams might take her far from the farm. With time running out, Buck places a daring bet on the Green Bay Packers winning the Championship, risking it all to save everything."
So, this is a sports drama, but also an artist's and a farmer's story on top of that. But the truth is even more heartfelt. It is an American story about the grassroots of this country. How do you survive when you are divided between love for self and love for family & country? You've got to put yourself to the side, for the moment. But the struggle associated with that can change your life forever, and this struggle is happening around this country all the time, now.
It's about not giving up on them.
