Wondering about all the upcoming 5&2 projects coming down the pipeline? We were too until we saw this new livestream.

Last night a new livestream from Dallas Jenkins popped up, which offered whole pant-loads of updates on all the projects that 5&2 are now working on. I was quite re-invigorated with hope for the company.

The following projects are included, including a "secret project" that we are still in shock about, and will mention at the end.

This will include updates on:
1. The Chosen S6 filming, BTS, a rough cut scene, & release
2. The Chosen Adventures release
3. Bear Grylls' The Chosen in the Wild release
4. The ChosenCon
5. Joseph of Egypt filming
6. The Chosen S5 on Prime
7. ...and a special previously unknown update on what 5&2 is bringing to us!

Let's walk you through...

First of all, Season 6 of The Chosen will be finished filming in about a week, but they show a behind the scenes soon after he begins. Season 6 (both the six episodes as well as the finale film) will likely release about this time next year (early fall) in theaters.

Next, The Chosen Adventures animated kids series is to be release on Prime on October 17th. They show a short clip from The Chosen Adventures at 20 minutes and 18 seconds (20:18).

They talk about The Chosen Gifts, including a very high profile gift, which is a limited edition $1000 photograph collection by Annie Leibovitz, but then they switch over to a scene from Bear Grylls' The Chosen in the Wild with Liz Tabish going over a cavernous cliff (at about 32:55). She has to conquer her fear of heights to a major degree in this clip. Dallas also goes over the fact that all six episodes of the Bear Grylls show have already been filmed, but will release in spring of next year.

The Chosen Con, The Chosen's convention for the biggest Chosen fans, is coming up early next year on February 19-21st but they cannot give the location yet. This fall the location will be forthcoming.

Joseph of Egypt, the eight episode miniseries, is being financed by Prime Video, and Dallas gives a five minute sneak peak to the set of the series at about 46:52. They discuss the production design with the legendary Jiles Masters, who worked on The Mummy and Stargate universes. It certainly makes the miniseries look pretty great!

A major update comes next, and this is huge. Many will not really understand the significance of all of this, but if you've followed our work here at Media Moses you'll know where The Chosen "came from," and how certain other film projects have had to leave their common distributor known as Angel Studios. Well, David, the animated movie, which has also recently left Angel due to legal issues is now partnering with 5&2 to release the film theatrically, and they give us a never-before-seen sneak peak of the film at about 55:55!

More about this later.

Dallas actually shows us a scene from Season 6 next, which is not even finished shooting yet. It is a rough cut, so no music or visual effects, but it is truly a shocking scene as it comes to the characters and story of The Chosen. It's really an amazing scene that comes in at around 1:07:31! They ask we do not share this clip anywhere else for copyright purposes.

Lastly, they show a great mini documentary about the making of Season 5 at 1:15:22, which takes up most of the remainder of the livestream (about a half an hour), but it is worth it. Again this is from Season 5, which Dallas announces is finally coming to Prime Video on Sunday September 28th! That is pretty exciting because it is coming in less than a month from now!

To sum up:
1. Season 6 will likely release theatrically about a year from now (early fall 2026)
2. The Chosen Adventures (kids animated show) coming to Prime Video on October 17th
3. The Chosen Gifts has some new item (clothes & limited edition photos)
4. Bear Grylls' The Chosen In The Wild come to Prime spring of next year
5. The ChosenCon is scheduled for Feb 19-21 (no location yet)
6. Joseph of Egypt production is fully underway
7. David is partnering with 5&2 to release their animated film in theaters!
8. Prime Video release date for Season 5 is September 28th!

Wow!

As it comes to our favorite updates here, David is truly a shocker. The reason is that a company like theirs wasn't anticipated by us to do licensing of previously filmed content to release theatrically. That is unprecedented, and it may indicate that 5&2 may begin to act more like a major Hollywood film studio/distributor rather than simply a production house, which is mostly what they've been. Even after changing into 5&2 and adding a ton of new content, all of this content appeared to be co-productions or production in-house. None of it was just licensed, much less licensed as films for theatrical release.

This opens a new era for faith-based media in the sense that we've never really had such a dynamic and multi-faceted studio in the faith-based world before. Angel is close, as a dynamic distributor, but it's not really a traditional faith-based production house that also distributes. It really only facilitates funding and distribution. Angel is very successful though, so it is stiff competition for 5&2. Hopefully, friendly competition.

The other factor is that Joseph of Egypt actually may end up to be an acceptable project. We had been very concerned about this, due to not being that knowledgeable or impressed with showrunner Craig Wright, but Dallas is selling us on the fact that 'The Braintrust' (as he calls it) is fully in charge of this miniseries' story, and he fully vouched for the lead actor. Having seen snippets of the show Greenleaf, however, I was less than impressed with Wright's previous work. Hopefully this turns 'a new leaf' for Craig Wright into more astutely written, with a (better fleshed out) biblically-based universe, and better acted well-established characters that are signed off on by "The Chosen Braintrust."

That's our hope, at least.

There were so many great updates here, from The Chosen, to David, to Joseph of Egypt, and we truly hope you will find something great here to enjoy in the next few coming months. 5&2 is really becoming a powerful studio to keep an eye and hopefully the content will just keep getting better and better as we go forward.
